Handbook of NGO Governance to help improve CSOs transparency and accountability

Good governance of civil society organizations (CSOs) is an essential element of a sustainable and thriving sector. To assist the Moldovan civil society in addressing the internal governance and, hence, to support CSOs’ transparency and accountability, the Moldova Partnerships for Sustainable Civil Society re-published in Romanian Handbook of NGO Governance. The Handbook provides a conceptual framework for establishing good governance in civil society organizations, and can be useful for both new and mature organizations. Drawing from the CSOs’ experience in Central and Eastern Europe, the publication offers tools and practical advice on how to develop CSOs’ internal structures in order to strengthen their board and management.

The author of the Handbook is Marilyn Wyatt, a coach and facilitator to nonprofit boards with extensive experience in more than 30 countries. The original Handbook was published by ECNL in in cooperation with the CEE Working Group on NGO Governance and the Trust for Civil Society in CEE.

Printing of the original text in Romanian is made possible by the generous support of the American People through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
